Dr AHMER USMANI

BDS MBA PRINCE 2

Ahmer has introduced processes that include sharing proven strategies and coaching delegates in a fun and positive way, allowing them to develop new skills, new behaviours, and increased levels of self-confidence

In 1996 Ahmer stood waiting for his train on a railway platform of a small train station in the east of India. His destination was Manipal – one of the top dental institutes with a genuinely diverse mix of students worldwide. Little did he know that the journey started in 1996 would one day travel through the varied landscape of dentistry, oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a truly enriching experience of an MBA finally culminating into a career influencer. Since then, tens of thousands of delegates, including dentists, orthodontists, treatment coordinators, specialists, innovators, thinkers, influencers, academics, CEOs, middle management professionals and other team members, are now a part of his network. These professionals come from different industries ranging from Healthcare to Fine Arts from more than 20 countries worldwide, including Brazil, China, Nepal, Pakistan, Egypt, Turkey, Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, South Africa, Cameroon, the UAE, Mauritius, Maldives Canada, the USA, Australia, Europe and of course all over India!

“Weare not here to tell you to take drastic measures with your career decisions. On the contrary, we are here to give you the fine points that can help you to self-reflect and unlock your true potential within your field. We are here to identify and debulk the randomness out of your professional journey, identifying your core interests and strengths, eventually helping you move forwards in the right direction.”

Dr AHMER USMANI

Ahmer’s vision is simple. He believes in the concept of self-actualisation. During his long and illustrious life journey, one thing that caught his attention was the gap between potential and achievement. Many professionals go about doing the same thing throughout their lives which may or may not do justice to their true potential. One of the reasons could be a lack of opportunity to take a pause and engage in self-reflection. They do not take a halt; this is the crucial point. However, what is more, important is to question the why behind the what! Caught in the tangle of supporting oneself and our family, where do we get the time to stop. But stop must we, for the world is changing at a rate never witnessed before. Gone are the days of the dreaded Mondays. If you are not looking forward to your Mondays, then clearly, either you are not doing what you are born to do, or more importantly, you are not doing how you are supposed to do! Ahmer is not here to tell you to take drastic measures with your career decisions.

On the contrary, he is here to give you the fine points that can help you to self-reflect and unlock your true potential within your field. He is here to identify and debulk the randomness out of your professional journey, identifying your core interests and strengths, eventually helping you move forwards in the right direction.

In 2009, he took a break from general dentistry and moved into Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. During his experience of working at a secondary care level in various NHS hospitals in the United Kingdom, he realised the value addition that one can bring by working at a broader level, serving the many and not just a few. True to his strong belief in the power of shared knowledge and expertise, he took this collaborative dimension to a different level.  In 2013, he opted to challenge his comfort zone by leaving the secure umbrella of the NHS and joining a top-class MBA school as a full-time student! It was a decision well made, for it opened the vast multitude of innovative ideas and provided him with direct access to some of the top business leaders- an excellent opportunity to share multi-dimensional experiences and perspectives.

Ahmer founded UK DENTAL 4U as a small consultancy offering help to overseas dentists and dental care professionals (DCPs) to access the route to registration that the GDC has put in place for registration via direct assessment. Under his leadership, UK DENTAL 4U has grown from a company run from home to 3 different branches with more than 25 full-time employees. At present, it offers a portfolio of top-class career progression services to dentists, dental therapists, dental hygienists, and dental technologists, practise managers and dental nurses. At UK DENTAL 4U, Ahmer has introduced processes that include sharing proven strategies and coaching delegates in a fun and positive way, allowing them to develop new skills, new behaviours, and increased levels of self-confidence. This process allows for the much-needed improvement in our delegate’s existing skillset resulting in a better market value and employability.
